Nobody knows what`s gonna happen tomorrow
Ох, мои иностранные коллеги, знали бы вы, сколько новых слов я благодаря вашим письмам узнаю!) Вы прям-таки бесплатно со мной английским занимаетесь!)
B: Thanks Olga. Any trips planned?
Me: Ahah, nope, unfortunately cant take long-term holidays until the middle of Septmeber - work is calling (cant wait the autumn!). But I`m already considering where to go, hesitating between Amsterdam and Rome. I had a stop-over in Ams a couple months ago and what I saw from a window of the plane was so amazing! And all our pilots are abolutely in love with this city (I guess, we can rely on opinion of people of such profession, cant we?)))
And how are the things going in Canada? *отправляю, в очередной раз стремаясь своего языка - британец же читать будет*
B: Well – I have been to both and it really depends on what you want from a vacation. I felt that Rome was fascinating – if you can stay in the original part of Rome, near the Trevi fountain for example then everything is walkable. If you read up on history you can start to imagine what it must have been like – plus food is good and plenty of outdoor restaurants and its warm! Plus you can take a day trip to the coast or to Pompeii or even split the vacation and take the train to Naples or Florence. Overall I think Italy gives the best all round experience. Holland is good but AMS is a two day experience and then you need to go out to the smaller towns that have barely changed over the years. If I was crew I might have the view that for a brief stay between flights AMS was great….if they are on a stopover they have different priorities than a tourist. Nice to have the choice?
Canada weather is approaching summer and much better thank goodness. I have a convertible for the summer and I drove it for the first time this year two weeks ago – an indication of how changeable the weather has been. Toronto is nice in the summer – lots of festivals, outdoor restaurant’s. I live near the lake and downtown so I run or bike along the lake front – it’s strange because on one day there is no one and the next there are people running and skateboarding all over the place – it is almost like a light switch goes off in people’s heads on the same day that say’s “its ok to go out now”!!! Same with sailboats – one day none next day hundreds! I am off to Houston in the next few weeks – my son lives there and I may look at a cruise later on. UK end Sept with maybe a side trip to Paris. Some of this is work but mostly not! *орфография и пунктуация автора сохранены. Заметьте, это не какой-нибудь полуграмотный рабочий из английской глубинки пишет, это чувак - главный по продажам. Бритиш инглиш, так вот ты какой!)*
